McAfee Web Protection Review in the New Normal

McAfee Web Protection Review

If you’re like me, you’re always looking for ways to keep your computer and personal information safe. That’s why I was excited to try out McAfee Web Protection. It’s a program that promises to protect you from online threats, including viruses, malware, and phishing scams. So, did it work? Read my McAfee Web Protection review to find out!

McAfee Web Protection Review in the New Normal

A few months ago, McAfee was a completely different firm. In early 2021, the long-time antivirus company sold off its corporate business to focus on serving the consumer sector, which includes individuals and their families and businesses

So the current suite is all about identification and privacy. These are the topics that are most important to the firm.

Virus and malware protection is still critical, but McAfee believes that the current focus of new features is on identification and privacy, of which device security is only one component.

McAfee has already been moving in this direction when we last looked at Total Protection, and it appears it will continue to do so.

A new app design has been implemented for Total Protection on Windows for 2022. An Identity Security Service that examines your online safety, protects against weak places and makes it easier to increase protection has also been created by the firm.

Safeguarding one’s personal information

Your McAfee account is required to use the ID Protection feature while using the ID Protection tile. In addition to McAfee’s Protection Score, which ranks your existing privacy and security settings based on a range of variables, we have a dark web scanning capability here

As far as I know, this is the most important component of McAfee’s dark web scanning. They believe this gives them an advantage over their competitors in terms of alerting their customers about risks considerably earlier. Keep a look out for more developments.

Performance

McAfee scored 99.5% and 100% on the AV-Test 0-day test in November and December of 2021, according to the most recent results available at the time of this writing. Both months showed scores of 100% on the widespread and prevalent-malware test.

With 743 samples, McAfee scored 99.8% in AV-Comparatives’ real-world protection test between July and October 2021. In the September 2021 malware-protection test, McAfee received a perfect score of 100 percent, with only four false positives.

Pricing

There are multiple levels of McAfee Total Protection. It costs $35 for one year of protection for one device, and the non-introductory price is $85. Up to five devices may be protected with Total Protection Plus, normally priced at $110 per year but is now available for $40 to new clients.

The first year of Total Protection Premium costs $50, and the next year costs $130 for up to 10 devices. Total Protection Ultimate costs $75 for new subscribers and $160 after that for unlimited devices.

The security suite provided by McAfee is top-notch. A VPN, file shredder, app update checker, and a home network scanner are just some of the other features that make this a fantastic choice.
