Requirements
Should have a degree from an approved university or a qualification that the Minister considers to be equivalent. Also, should have been for not less than 5 years engaged in activities that involve or are with the protection of personal data or the privacy of individuals.
Should be a person of integrity and not engage in any business activity which is incompatible with the functions of the Commissioner. Also, should not hold any political or judicial office or be a member of either House of the Oireachtas or a local authority.
